At The London Guitar Institute, we prioritise excellent character, enthusiasm, and dedication over formal qualifications. While a music degree is beneficial, we welcome applications from outstanding self-taught guitarists with a proven track record of teaching and playing at a high level. However, a top-notch understanding of the guitar – its techniques, theory, and performance – is essential to teach with us. Candidate Requirements

  • A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring adult learners
  • A top-notch understanding of the guitar, including techniques, theory, and performance
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience (preferred but not essential if you demonstrate strong aptitude)
  • Adopting a flexible, adaptable approach to suit individual learning styles
  • Extensive experience working with adult students or a willingness to be trained
  • Ability to teach a broad range of musical genres
  • Familiarity with ABRSM or Trinity College grade examinations (optional but advantageous)
  • Capability to teach all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced (Grade 8+)
